2011 Ballarat Heritage Awards

An unprecedented number of heritage building owners, builders and developers nominated for the 2011 Ballarat Heritage Awards, highlighting the community’s desire to celebrate and promote Ballarat’s heritage.

Presented jointly by the City of Ballarat and the National Trust of Australia (Vic), the awards were held for the first time in 2010 to recognise excellence in retention, restoration, enhancement and reuse of heritage places.

The awards were open to domestic and commercial projects, from both government and non-government sectors.

The 2011 award winners demonstrated excellence in conservation work, conservation skills, sustainability, adaptive reuse and sympathetic new design.

The winners and finalists received commemorative plaques at a formal awards ceremony held at the Art Gallery of Ballarat on 6 May 2011.
