Ballarat has an excellent range of indoor and outdoor swimming pools providing facilities for families with children of all ages. In addition to these community facilities, there are a number of private swimming schools operating in Ballarat as per the Yellow Pages.

Since October 2010, the Ballarat community has been able to experience the Centre’s wonderful new facilities which include: two new warm water programmable pools, a new super size spa, an upgraded steam room and additional change facilities and showers. An expanded and family friendly café offers a new extended menu with healthy and special dietary options. With a strikingly modern red, black and white design, the cafe features easy access by ramp from both the Reception area and Pool hall.

The BAC is a City of Ballarat owned leisure and aquatic facility and managed by the YMCA. It provides a wide range of facilities including swimming pools, spa, health club, gym, gymnastics centre and crèche. Activities offered include learn to swim classes, gymnastics, fitness classes, childcare, SNAP - Special Needs Aquatic Program, holiday programs and birthday parties.

Based at the University of Ballarat, UniSports offer a range of facilities including a 25m swimming pool and a fully equipped gymnasium.  A variety of recreation programs are also offered by UniSports, such as swimming lessons, gymnastic programs and birthday parties. UniSports welcome students, staff and community participation.
