SAILS Program
(Social, Activities, Interest, Leisure, Support)
SAILS is a recreation and leisure program for older people with an intellectual disability. The choices of activities offered reflect the requests, needs and wishes of each person attending the program. Individuals are provided with opportunities to participate in a range of group activities that will help develop skills to increase their independence and promote community participation in areas of their interest. Activities are both centre and community based.
Who Can attend SAILS
Older people with a disability who have Department of Human Services (DHS) Individual Support Package funding can apply to attend SAILS. Access is dependent on DHS funding, on the availability of vacancies and the ability of resources to meet the interests, needs and wishes of the applicant.
Service User Fees
There is no service user fee at SAILS. We may however request that people contribute to entry fees, material costs, community outings etc.
