BALLARAT RESIDENTIAL INFILL OPPORTUNITY STUDY

The Ballarat Residential Infill Opportunities Study (BRIOS) was commissioned in 2008 by the City of Ballarat and the Department of Planning and Community Development under the Regional Towns Development Program.

The project was completed by Aurecon with inputs from Essential Economics and EDaw. The promotion of infill development is seen as one of the ways Ballarat can contribute to achieving the strategic directions of the Victorian Sustainability Accord, which include the efficient use of resources and the reduction of environmental impacts.

BRIOS addresses future urban development in Ballarat through the identification of existing and potential residential infill development sites.
