Permit Fees & Costs

Fees for planning permits were increased by the State Government recently as of 1 November, 2007.

A Permit fee is required as a part of any permit application and are charged accordingly by the Victorian Legislation and Parliamentary Documents Website.

The fees are generally separated into use and or development permit fees. If a proposal includes elements of a 'use' and 'development' a combined fee applies.

Planning Permits Fees as at 1 November, 2007 (Planning and Environment Reg 7)

Class 4 An application (not a dwelling) to develop land if the estimated cost of development is $10,000.00 or less $102.00
Class 5 An application (not a dwelling) to develop land if the estimated cost of development is more than $10 000 and not more than $250,000.00 $604.00
Class 6 An application (not a dwelling) to develop land if the estimated cost of development is more than $250,000 and not more than $500,000.00 $707.00
Class 7 An application (not a dwelling) to develop land if the estimated cost of development is more than $500 000 and not more than $1,000,000.00 $815.00

Fees for Statutory Planning Services
The fee structure recognises that most of the identified activities below require payment of fees for Unit functions, which benefit individual applicants only. The fee structure is reviewed annually.
