ARTS & CULTURAL DEVELOPMENT STRATEGY

Development of a five year Arts and Cultural Development Strategy was commissioned in June 2005 in consultation with the people of Ballarat by Four Pillars Consulting. Information gained from the first phase of extensive public consultation, feedback from the discussion paper, and a series of public forums held during July to October 2005, were used to develop the strategy document.

A number of themes have emerged providing the impetus for the strategic framework for arts and cultural development in the Ballarat region. The strategy consists of a report and an action plan which sets out key findings, the following eight strategic objectives and corresponding actions:

5. Turning Spaces Into Places
6. Telling Our Stories
7. Making Art With, By and For People
8. Recognising Our Creative Economy
