  • Ballarat Skipton Rail Trail The section of the Ballarat-Skipton Rail Trail, between the Ring Road and Blind Creek Road, will be closed until June, 2018 due to the construction of the Ballarat Link Road. The Trail can be accessed via Blind Creek Road and the Avenue of Honour in Cardigan.

To minimise traffic disruption, traffic is encouraged to use alternative routes where possible, as full and partial road closures will be in place during phases of the works.  Motorists are requested to approach the area with caution and to observe all warning and directional signage. Inconvenience will be kept to a minimum and your co-operation during this period would be appreciated.

The City of Ballarat utilises an electronic tender listing system.   This system speeds up the tendering cycle and reduces the time and costs for both City of Ballarat and suppliers. To use this system and to access the tenders being called you must first be a registered Supplier.

City of Ballarat wishes to invite organisations to bid for the supply of goods and/or services contained within this system.  As a registered supplier, you can receive email notification of any new tenders we publish, download and view the documentation electronically, and participate in forums to seek clarification or to ask questions.  Where available, submission of your bids can be completed through the e-tender box facility.

Notice of Intention to Lease

The City of Ballarat hereby gives notice under Section 190 of the Local Government Act 1989 (“the Act”) of its intention to consider leasing Part of Lot 2 PS431346, known as the North Ballarat Sports Club.

Written submissions relating to the proposed leasing of this site will be considered in accordance with Section 223 of the Act and must be received by the Property Department, City of Ballarat, PO Box 655, Ballarat, Vic. 3350, within 28 days of this notice.

Road Discontinuance – Unused section of road reserve being CA 2046 Township of Ballarat

Pursuant to Section 223 and Clause 3 of Schedule 10 of the Local Government Act 1989, the City of Ballarat hereby gives notice of its intention to discontinue an unused and unmade portion of road reserve. Specifically, the area to be discontinued is Crown Allotment 2046 in the Township of Ballarat and is a small portion of road forming an unused section of Nolan Street in Soldiers Hill.

Any person may make a submission to Council in respect to this matter. Please indicate if you wish to be heard in support of this submission. Any such person is entitled to appear before a meeting of Council or Committee of Council personally or be represented by a person specified in the submission. A formal notification of the date and time of the meeting will be advised. Written submissions received by Council before 5pm on Monday 24th April 2017 will be considered in accordance with Section 223 of the Local Government Act 1989. Mayor and Councillor Allowance

In accordance with Sections 223 and 73A(4) of the Local Government Act 1989, the City of Ballarat is advising of its consideration to adopt the Mayoral Allowance of $94,641 per annum and Councillor Allowance of $29,630 per annum. Any person may make a written submission to Council in relation to its consideration of the Mayoral and Councillor Allowance. Written submissions received before 9am Tuesday 14 March, 2017 will be considered in accordance with Section 223 of the Act.
