Mayor, Cr Mark Harris

Mark Harris was elected to Ballarat City Council as a Central Ward Councillor in December 2008.

Councillor Mark Harris was elected as Mayor of the City of Ballarat in December 2011.

Councillor Harris aims to establish a clean and efficient city administration to ensure the positive future of Ballarat.

One of three Central Ward Councillors, Councillor Harris is also a Destinations and Connections Portfolio Councillor.

His community involvement includes being a field emergency medical officer with State Displan and an active reserve medical officer.

Councillor Harris works locally as a medical practitioner in the emergency departments of the city's hospitals.

In his capacity as Mayor of Ballarat Councillor Harris is a Director on the Board of the League of Historical Cities.
