City of Ballarat residents are being invited to come along to a Lake Esmond community event this weekend (15/10).

The community day will be held on Saturday 15 October between 12 and 3pm. Activities include a free BBQ, fishing lessons for children and live music.

The event will also act as the official launch of Community Safety Month.

City of Ballarat Portfolio Councillor for People and Communities Des Hudson said Saturday’s event would be a great community celebration.

“Council is keen to see the formation of a Lake Esmond Friend’s Group so it is hoped that Saturday’s event will initiate discussions and give the group a kick start.

“By working together we hope to facilitate and support community participation that will ensure Lake Esmond is enjoyed by the entire community well into the future.”

Residents are encouraged to bring along old photographs of Lake Esmond to share and display.
