Thirty two community organisations and not for profit groups will share more than $126,000 in funding thanks to the City of Ballarat’s Community Impact Grants Program.
Cheques for grants of up to $10,000 will be distributed to the groups at a special function at the Art Gallery of Ballarat on Thursday 20 October, 2011.
The first round of the Community Impact Grants Program attracted applications from a variety of community organisations seeking funding for projects, events, exhibitions and performances.
People and Communities Portfolio Councillor, Des Hudson said the aim of the grants program was to assist local community organisations to build community relations, create connections and improve health and wellbeing opportunities in Ballarat.
“The next round of Council’s Community Impact Grants opens on the first of November and I encourage community groups which need funding to support a particular event or program to get involved”, Cr Hudson said.
“This grants program provides much needed financial assistance to a diverse range of groups which reflect the interests and aspirations of people across the community”.
The grants open on the 1st of November and close on the 30th. There will be two workshops at the Town Hall for anyone interested in applying; the first is on November 3rd at 10.00am, the second is on November 8th from 5.30pm – 6.30pm.
