Are you interested in representing the opinions and ideas of Ballarat’s youth? If so, Council wants to hear from you.

Council is currently calling for nominations for the City of Ballarat Youth Council 2012. Youth Council acts as the voice for Ballarat’s young people and makes sure that the thoughts of local young people are heard.

City of Ballarat Portfolio Councillor for People and Communities John Philips said the role of Youth Council was an important one.

“Every year Youth Council provides us as Councillors with an important link to the views and opinions of our city’s youth.

“This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a passionate and active Council group that represents the youth of Ballarat.”

Current Youth Councillor Emerson Cross said he has been provided with endless opportunities to develop his leadership skills whilst at the same time having a lot of fun.

“It’s extremely empowering as a young person to be able to contribute to the community and to act as the voice of Ballarat youth”.
