Whether you have an interest or participate in walking, using a children’s playground, cricket, football, tennis, soccer, cycling, bmx riding, netball or any of the sports played on Council’s recreation reserves, the City of Ballarat wants to hear from you.
Council is calling for the community to have their say on draft masterplans for seven of the city’s recreation reserves, some of which are key sporting precincts.
City of Ballarat People and Communities Portfolio Councillor Des Hudson said the masterplans would provide a framework to guide the development of the city’s recreational facilities and reserves over the next 15 years.
“The masterplan process is indicative of Council’s commitment to providing a diverse range of recreation and sporting opportunities aimed at improving the overall health and wellbeing of the local community.
“Our city’s sport and recreation reserves are important, they encourage residents to be active, they promote social interaction and provide public open spaces for passive use.
“Each of the masterplans has been developed in conjunction with the reserves’ key stakeholders. We are now encouraging the community to have their say on the future of the city’s sporting precincts.”
