Revisit the movie classic ‘The Wizard of Oz’ under the stars at the 2011 Ballarat Begonia Festival.  

Pack a picnic, rug or low-lying chair and enjoy a FREE twilight cinema experience on the Lake Wendouree foreshore on Sunday 13 March.

‘The Wizard of Oz’ (1939) will be screened from dusk (approximately 8.45pm), at Fairyland on the Lake Wendouree foreshore.

City of Ballarat Portfolio Councillor Samantha McIntosh said the free twilight cinema experience added another dimension to this year’s Begonia Festival.

“The Wizard of Oz is a timeless movie classic and one the whole family will enjoy. With this year’s twilight cinema experience having free entry, the event will be even more appealing.

“The twilight cinema experience captures the true spirit of the Festival and will evoke people’s imagination with the beauty of the lake and gardens precinct coupled with the magic and fantasy of The Wizard of Oz.” 

Entry is free. Refreshments will be available for purchase on the evening.

The Ballarat Begonia Festival will be held Saturday 12 – Monday 14 March, 10am to 5pm.
