City of Ballarat will meet in August to decide on a preferred tenderer for the Civic Hall site.

This is later than the mid-July date that was originally planned, and follows a decision by the project’s Evaluation Panel to request further information from the tendering parties, prior to finalising its recommendation.

Council’s Chief Executive Officer, Anthony Schinck said the extension of time would provide a higher degree of certainty to Council and further minimise any possible risk associated with the proposal.

The recommendation of a preferred tender is likely to go to the August 10, 2011 meeting of Council.
