Council's Youth Services' BYou team is delighted by the overwhelming participation of its Boredom Breaker activities.
The holiday program has reached its last week and has proven to be a positive summer initiative for Ballarat's young people. This BYou Youth Services project has been successful in attracting a number of new faces and strong attendance rates and has made a variety of unique and fun opportunities available for the young people in the community.
The BYou 'Boredom Breaker' program has offered a range of free events throughout January in an attempt to keep young residents, between the ages of 12 and 25, occupied with activities including a karaoke day, cooking lessons and day trips at the beach.
Only two events remain bringing the last week of Boredom Breakers program to an end.
Today, from 2 - 6pm, an Australia Day Eve celebration will be held at the Space, 122 Armstrong St South, where young people can celebrate their country and come dressed up in as much 'Aussie' as possible.
On Friday 27 January, from 2 - 6pm, the BYou team is giving young people the chance to race against the clock in teams as part of the 'BYou Amazing Race'.
BYou welcomes all young residents aged between 12 and 25 years to its free events held at 'The Space', 122 Armstrong St South. All events are offered in a positive and friendly environment that gives the youth of Ballarat opportunities to meet new people, form friendships and enjoy themselves whilst at the same time, gain new skills while getting involved with the Ballarat community.
