The City of Ballarat’s free ‘Summer in the city’ event program is now in full swing.
Around 50 free events will be held in Ballarat’s CBD as part of Council’s first ‘Summer in the city’ program. Art classes, poetry readings, historical tours, gym classes, entertainment, dancing and language lessons are just some of the activities that will be on offer throughout summer.
Ballarat Mayor Cr Craig Fletcher said the free program of events was expected to generate a vibrant and exciting CBD over the coming weeks.
“With more than 50 free events on offer there is sure to be something that appeals to those of all ages.
“Art classes, poetry readings, historical tours, gym classes, entertainment, dancing and language lessons are just some of the activities that will be on offer throughout summer.”
The ‘Summer in the city’ program is a key outcome of Council’s ‘Making Ballarat Central’ CBD Strategy. The program of events follows the success of the monthly Town Hall Fresh Produce Market as well as the Tai Chi and drawing classes.
‘Summer in the city’ event programs are available at Council’s Customer Service Centre, The Phoenix, 25 Armstrong Street South, various shops around the CBD or from Council’s website www.ballarat.vic.gov.au
