UFS dispensaries have partnered with Ollie’s Lollies to prepare a float for the 2012 The Courier Begonia Parade as part of the ‘floating synergies’ initiative.

In keeping with the ‘Fairytales’ theme of this year’s parade the Ollie’s Lollies float will be based on the classic story of Hansel and Gretel and will feature a huge gingerbread house designed by master float builder Clayton Edwards.

Ollie’s Lollies is the newest Business Unit of McCallum Industries, an Australian Disability Enterprise offering supported employment opportunities for people with a disability and is a member of the McCallum Group.  A wide range of confectionery is packed on site under the Ollie’s Lollies brand and is distributed to retail outlets in the Ballarat region as well as via honesty boxes in offices, clubs etc.

UFS Dispensaries have been operating in Ballarat since 1888, servicing the needs of members and the community at large. UFS Dispensaries is a not-for-profit, community based organisation running fifteen pharmacies, two pharmacy depots, three Medical Centres, a gift shop, a well-being centre and a pilates and yoga studio throughout western Victoria.

Registrations for 2012 The Courier Begonia Parade close this Friday 10 February.

Following on from the popular introduction of the award categories in 2011, the Mayor’s Choice, Best Schools Entry, Best Community Entry, Best Business Entry and Best Musical Entry (new category) awards, awards will again be presented in 2012.

The 60th anniversary of the Ballarat Begonia Festival will be held from 10 -12 March, 2012. The Courier Begonia Parade will take place on Monday 13 March at 11am along Wendouree Parade.
