Buninyong Tennis Facility Gets Funding Boost from Tennis Australia

Tennis Australia, the sport’s governing body, has shown its confidence in the redevelopment of the Buninyong Tennis Facility, with a $48,000 rebate for the project.

The money from Tennis Australia will be put toward enhancements for the project which could include additional lighting, player shelters or extra landscaping.

Work on the $474,000 project, which will see eight new courts for the town, is due to be completed in early May after considerable delays due to rain.

City of Ballarat South Ward Councillor Des Hudson said the Tennis Australia money would help deliver enhancements for the project that the original budget did not cover.

“Tennis Australia’s decision to grant this funding is a great show of support from the governing body – is a reflection of how much interest there is in tennis locally”, Cr Hudson said.
