Apply now for Community Event Grants

Applications are now open for Round Two of the City of Ballarat’s Community Event Grant Scheme, with $40,000 available for events to be held until 30 September 2011.

Applications for Round Two open today, 1 February and will close at 5pm on 28 February.

City of Ballarat Destinations and Connections Portfolio Councillor Samantha McIntosh said the Community Event Grant Scheme is a valuable funding program that benefits all residents.

“City of Ballarat’s Community Event Grant Scheme provides vital funding for local organisations to continue creating and delivering programs that are enjoyable, valuable and ultimately successful. 

“Council encourages all local event organisers to apply for funding this year and invest the money into staging excellent events for all residents.”

Community Event Grant Scheme Guidelines and application forms are available at Council’s Customer Service Centre, The Phoenix building, Armstrong Street South or online at www.ballarat.vic.gov.au

Council will host two funding workshops to provide further information and to assist with completing Community Event Grant Scheme application forms.

Workshops will be held on the following dates:

  • Friday 4 February, 1 – 2pm in Committee Room 2, Town Hall
  • Thursday 10 February, 5.40 – 6.40pm in Committee Room 2, Town Hall

The City of Ballarat recognises the value of community events in Ballarat.  The city’s events are a celebration of the region’s diversity and its cultural, economic, environmental and social development.

City of Ballarat developed the Community Event Grant Scheme to provide support for incorporated bodies to organise and deliver successful events.  The Grant Scheme formalises the funding application process for events that deliver a clear benefit to the local community.
