Applications are now open for Round Two of the City of Ballarat’s Community Development Grant Program, with $29,000 available to fund local community projects.
Not-for-profit community groups may apply for grants to fund projects that support and/or provide services to enhance the quality of life for Ballarat residents. Grants may range from $500 to $5,000, however requests for up to $10,000 will be considered.
City of Ballarat Deputy Mayor Councillor Mark Harris said the Community Development Grants program is a valuable initiative that allows not-for-profit groups to make their community projects a reality.
“In 2010, Council delivered $70,266 to 28 local organisations and without these grants many of these projects would not have been possible.
“I encourage all Ballarat community groups to apply. We look forward to receiving applications for an exciting range of innovative plans that will greatly benefit our community.”
The City of Ballarat Community Development Grants Team will facilitate two funding workshops to provide support and assistance to interested community groups. Workshops will be held on:
- Thursday 3 February, 9.30 – 10.30am in the Trench Room, Town Hall
- Tuesday 8 February, 5 – 6pm in the Trench Room, Town Hall
Guidelines and application forms are available at Customer Service, Phoenix Building, Armstrong Street South or Council’s website www.ballarat.vic.gov.au
Applications close at 5pm, Monday 28 February, 2011.
