Christmas shoppers will be rewarded with entertainment and festive treats when they shop in Ballarat.
On Saturday 17 and Saturday 24 December, between 9am and 1pm, shoppers will be treated to a festive atmosphere in the CBD.
The Ballarat Brass Band, Vocalise, Ballarat Memorial Concert Band, Sing Australia, the Soup-reme Funplayers, Cheeky Possums and the Little Brass Band will entertain shoppers at a number of locations including corner of Sturt and Armstrong sts, Titanic Rotunda, 400 block rotunda and Grenville St (Bridge Mall entrance).
Tasty treats will be served by the Eureka Butterfly Girl Guides at the Community Christmas Kitchen, located next to the Town Hall in Armstrong Street.
Children will be entertained by roving performers around the CBD including the giant candy cane people Holly the Christmas Clown, Snow Angel, Charlie the Cheeky Elf and Elf Twinkle toes.
City of Ballarat Portfolio Councillor for Destination and Connections Cheryl Bromfield said Council is encouraging residents to show their support for local business by shopping in Ballarat this Christmas.
“Christmas is an important time of year for local businesses. The Ballarat community is incredibly lucky to have a unique range of shopping experiences right here on the doorstep.”
