The Vietnam Veterans Association of Ballarat will mark its national day with a Commemorative Service at Ballarat’s South East Asian Memorial, corner Sturt and Dawson streets, on Sunday 14 August at 11am.
All are welcome to attend the service.
Vietnam veterans will congregate at the corner of Dawson Street South and Sturt Street from 11am. The formal service will commence at 11.10am.
For the safety of participants and all road users the following traffic alterations will be in place from 10am until 12.30pm:
- West bound traffic on Sturt Street will be diverted at Doveton Street from 10am to 12.30pm. Traffic can rejoin Sturt Street from Lyons Street South.
- Access to Dawson Street South from Sturt Street (east bound) and Dawson Street North will be closed from 10am to 12.30pm.
- Dawson Street South will be closed to through traffic at the Sturt Street intersection from 10 to 12.30pm.
Pedestrian access to businesses and services is available at all times during these altered traffic conditions. Speed restrictions and some short delays are expected, therefore all road users are reminded to approach the area with caution and follow the direction of marshals and Police at all times.
