Ballarat’s youngest shoppers have a brand new area to discover, with the opening of the new play space in the Bridge Mall.
The new play space has been designed in consultation with the Bridge Mall Traders Association and is an outcome of Council’s CBD Strategy.
The project was made possible with a contribution of $90,000 from Council and $20,000 from the Bridge Mall Traders Association.
The new play space features a shade sail and a new soft fall surface.
City of Ballarat Mayor Cr Craig Fletcher said the new play space is another great outcome for Council’s CBD Strategy.
“The new play space is a great improvement to the Bridge Mall. Council continues to work closely with the Bridge Mall Traders to continually improve the amenity of the precinct.
“The Bridge Mall was a key focus of the CBD strategy. We need to continually make city spaces more attractive, and this project will assist in achieving this.
“The new play space will offer a first class facility and will ensure the area is safe and has adequate shade for children visiting the Bridge Mall in the future.”
Council’s CBD Strategy was adopted in 2010.
