Nominations are now open for the 2011 Ballarat Heritage Awards.

Presented jointly by the City of Ballarat and the National Trust of Australia (VIC), the awards aim to recognise those in our community who have demonstrated excellence in retention, restoration, enhancement and reuse of our heritage places.

City of Ballarat Portfolio Councillor Samantha McIntosh said the Ballarat Heritage Awards highlighted Council’s commitment to celebrating and promoting our city’s heritage.

“The awards will offer due recognition to those who have displayed excellence in heritage conservation while raising awareness of heritage within the community and the important role we all play in its preservation.”

Dianne Gow, President of the Ballarat branch of the National Trust, said the National Trust, Australia’s largest community heritage group, is delighted to partner with the City of Ballarat for the second year running.

The Ballarat Heritage Awards are open to domestic and commercial projects, from both government and non-government sectors.
