Ten local events will receive a boost following the announcement of Council’s Community Event Grant Scheme round two recipients.
Ten events will share in $40,850.70 worth of funding as part of round two of Council’s 2010/11 Community Event Grant Scheme.
City of Ballarat Mayor Craig Fletcher said the Community Event Grant Scheme is a valuable funding program that provides an opportunity for organisations to continue creating and developing events that are successful and enjoyable for the community.
“The Community Event Grant Scheme aims to stimulate the local community to increase cultural, environmental and social development opportunities as well as fostering relationships between individuals and groups and promote a sense of pride and community identity.
“Congratulations to each of the successful recipients. We look forward to seeing some excellent events being staged in our city.”
Successful recipients are:
- 2011 Ballarat Mooncake Festival - Chinese Australian Cultural Society Ballarat - $10,000
- Mother’s Day Classic - Women in Super, Mother’s Day Classic - $3,692
- Rainbow Hair for Fostercare – Child and Family Services - $5,000
- Taste Wine and Food Expo – Ballarat Agricultural and Pastoral Society - $2,500
- The Design Exchange Markets - The Design Exchange - $3,158.70
- Starry Winter Nights and Starry Spring Nights – Ballarat Astronomical Society - $2,000
- Multicultural Youth Artist Event – Ballarat Regional Multicultural Council - $2,000
- The Black Hill Project – Ballarat North Salvation Army Community House - $5,000
- Ballarat Autumn Day Ride (BAD Ride) – Ballarat Bushwalking and Outdoor Club - $4,500
- Festival of Colours – Ballarat Indian Association Inc - $3,000
