Council’s major strategic planning document, the Council Plan, sets out the strategic direction for Council over the four years of its term of office and outlines the key programs and projects that will be delivered by Council over that period from 1 July 2009 to 30 June 2013.

The City of Ballarat has released its Draft Council Plan 2009-2013 (Revised for 2012-13) which sets out Council’s strategic direction for the period to June 2013 and provides specific details on the programs and projects to be delivered by Council in the 2012/13 financial year.  In accordance with Section 125 of the Local Government Act 1989 Council is required to review and adjust the Council Plan in each of the intervening financial years covered by this four year Plan that came into operation in July 2009.

Council is seeking comment on the draft revised Council Plan.  Written submissions received by Council by 9.00am on Tuesday 12 June 2012 will be considered by Council in accordance with Section 223 of the Local Government Act 1989.  Persons who wish to speak in support of their submissions, or have someone speak on their behalf, should indicate this in their responses and be available to attend a meeting of Council scheduled for Wednesday 20 June 2012.  Respondents will be advised of the specific time they will be invited to present to Council.
