The Victorian Electoral Commission (VEC) conducted an Electoral Representation Review of Ballarat City Council in 2007.  The outcome of the review is that

         Ballarat City Council consist of nine councillors to be elected from three three councillor wards

This will take effect for the November 2008 Council elections.  There is no change to the current number of nine councillors representing the Ballarat community on Council.  For the next election in November, the system of voting shall be proportional representation.
