Tree Management Plan

A Tree Management Plan has been developed to:

  • acknowledge the important role Trees play in our lives and environment
  • provide a framework for the protection and enhancement of street, roadside parkland and private Trees in the municipality of Ballarat
  • provide a clearly defined and consistent approach to the way the City of Ballarat manages tree issues
  • assist the City of Ballarat in determining priorities for tree programs and works

Specific principles and policies have been formulated for how the City of Ballarat deals with:

  • Treestree management
  • risk identification and mitigation
  • tree inspections and assessments
  • tree selection and planting
  • tree removal
  • tree protection
  • infrastructure protection
  • electric line clearance
  • tree maintenance
  • environmental and community imperatives
  • pest and disease control
  • significant trees
