Child Care Centre - Occasional Care

Occasional Childcare is a licenced service operated by Ballarat City Council, offering a minimum of two hours care or up to a full day/week. You can book on the day (places permitting) or up to three weeks in advance and make changes to existing bookings within four (business) hours notice.Occassional Child Care Centre, Ballarat

Benefits of the flexible booking system supports parents to meet family needs such as, taking a break from the demands of parenting, studying, shopping, keeping appointments, recreation, part time/casual work hours, socialisation for child/ren and family, leisure pursuits, voluntary community work etc.

Staff ratios at Occasional are one staff member for every five children under the age of three years old, and one staff member for every 15 children over the age of three years.

Hours & Costs

Opening hours are Monday to Friday - 8.30am to 5.00pm.

The Centre is open 48 weeks per year, with a holiday program available to those needing care during January.

Fees

Childcare is charged in two-hourly blocks as follows:Occassional Child Care Centre logo

  • 9.00am - 11.00am
  • 11.00am - 1.00pm
  • 1.00pm - 3.00pm
  • 3.00pm - 5.00pm
Where childcare is required for longer than two hours, eg. from 9.00am to 12.00pm - this will be charged as 2 x 2 hour blocks ie. from 9.00am to 1.00pm.
Duration:Costs:
2 hourly sessions (from 9.00am*)$7.50 per hour

*when childcare is required from 8.30am to 9.00am this will be charged as a 30 minute session.

Occasional Child Care is located on the corner of Market Street and Armstrong Street North, Ballarat (one block north of Myer).
