Road Safety Strategic Plan

Road safety is a responsibility shared by residents, VicRoads, Police and the City of Ballarat along with other government bodies and community groups. The Road Safety Strategy 2007.pdf (PDF - 1247KB) brings these groups together by providing a coordinated approach to improving road safety in the municipality, aimed at reducing the number and severity of collisions on our roads. The report was adopted by Council on 25 July 2007.

The plan is consistent with the Victorian Government's arrive alive strategy and with the safe system approach adopted by VicRoads. The plan sits within the planning framework provided by Blueprint Ballarat  and the Council Plan 2007-2011. It relates closely to the City of Ballarat Integrated Transport Strategy and shares some common goals with the Environmental Sustainability Strategy (draft) and the Municipal Health Plan.
