Youth Head Quarters logo - YHQ City of Ballarat Youth ServicesYouth Head Quarters (YHQ) is home to the City of Ballarat's Youth Services. It's a place where young people aged between 12-25 years old can go to access information, meet new friends and speak to youth services staff who can provide support & links to other services and programs to meet their needs.

Where is it? 122 Armstrong St Sth, Ballarat (just down from Shoe Bonanza)
When is it open? Monday Friday, 2.00pm - 6.00pm

What does YHQ have to offer?

  • Youth Head Quarters - BallaratYouth workers who will have a chat and refer you to other people or organisations if you need specific services
  • YHQ has information on a huge range of services available to young people in Ballarat
  • FREE computers use including internet access
  • attend inexpensive health classes like yoga, funk dance, self defence
  • get information and discounts to local events & concerts
  • receive a regular newsletters about what is happening around town
  • just come and enjoy the space to chill out
  • read the latest magazines, watch DVD's
  • have meetings
  • drink FREE milo, coffee & tea
  • membership for just $15.00 a year! (will include all of the above)
  • join our mailing list by coming into YHQ or via the website www.splinta.org

Other ways you can get involved with Youth Services?

There are heaps of other ways that young people can participate with Youth Services some examples include:
  • organising and managing events
  • getting help with education and employment programs
  • volunteering at various festivals, concerts, radio, environmental and recreation activities
  • organising or participating with our annual Youth Festival Stuffest and lots more
  • have your say on what young people want and need in Ballarat
