Information & Communication Technology (ICT) 2030

cBallarat and the University of Ballarat have formed a partnership to produce 'ICT 2030' the next generation strategy of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) for the Ballarat region. The initiative will build on Ballarats emerging reputation as the Regional ICT capital of Australia.

ICT 2030 will be a framework from which to develop ICT capacity, investment and employment opportunities critical to Ballarats future.

cBallarat, auspiced by the City of Ballarat and chaired by Councils Chief Executive Officer, Richard Hancock, is an independent not-for-profit organisation designed to assist in the promotion and coordination of Ballarats ICT development.

cBallarat conducts innovative and pioneering ICT projects and is responsible for mapping the future direction of ICT in Ballarat.

The University of Ballarat which is researching the project, will produce a draft strategy for consideration by late 2006.

The local community and stakeholders are encouraged to provide input into ICT 2030s development, via submissions and workshops planned for later this year.
