Development Bulletin
The City of Ballarat has developed an information service for all community members who are interested in knowing the latest information pertaining to Ballarat's development - the Development Bulletin.
The Development Bulletin provides regular information to professionals and residents on all things relating to Council's involvement in the development industry. It includes information such as:
- strategies and ongoing projects
- planning scheme amendments
- major planning permit applications
- building and planning permit statistics
- information on the planning and building permit process
- service improvement initiatives

Municipal Strategic Statement
The Municipal Strategic Statement (MSS) is a concise statement within the Ballarat Planning Scheme which outlines the key strategic planning, land use and development objectives for the municipality and the strategies and actions for achieving these objectives. It provides the strategic basis for decision making on planning matters and also for the application of the zones, overlays and particular provisions.
The Ballarat MSS is currently made up of nine parts, which can be accessed from the Department of Planning and Community Development (DPCD) website - Ballarat Planning Scheme Online and by following the links below:
