Meals on Wheels

The delivered meal service or 'Meals On Wheels' provides meals for people who are frail, aged or have a disability and are nutritionally at risk. This may include people who are no longer able to cook meals for themselves or require assistance with nutrition.

Offering a variety of options to clients with meals delivered Monday to Friday, menus are created in consultation with a dietician and are aimed at providing between one third and one half of the daily nutrition requirements.

A wide range of food is offered. Each day clients are able to select any of the following:

  • A soup,
  • A choice from 5-6 main courses,
  • a dessert or fresh fruit
  • sandwiches
  • Orange juice is also provided unless otherwise requested

Main courses usually include a roast, a casserole, a vegetarian dish and a salad. All hot meals are accompanied with vegetables. All desserts are suitable for diabetics unless stated.
